Clouds are astronomers' natural enemies -- nevertheless we declare a truce for dawns as beautiful as this. It seemed almost a fairytale scene, with brilliant Venus making a slight halo in the thin cloud.

Technical Details:

Taken using Nikon D3200 camera with 18-55mm zoom lens at 18mm. Exposure was 8 sec at f/9, with film speed set to ISO 800. Contrast adjusted, blurred to reduce image noise, and re-pixelated from the full frame but not cropped. Though slightly fainter stars can be seen here than were visible to the unaided eye, the image captures the visual impact of the scene.
