The last gleam of sunset is actually a green flash. In fact, the air was so clear and dust-free that there is even a hint of a blue flash. To see the flash itself at maximum resolution, check out the second-to-last frame of this sequence.



Technical Details:

Taken using Nikon D3200 camera with 70-300mm zoom lens at 300mm. Re-pixelated from the full frame but not cropped. This picture accurately represents the visual appearance of the scene, as viewed through binoculars.
